I love Kitchen Window! For starters, it is actually a lovely place--quite well lit and bright inside. Something about its positioning seems to also allow for a decent amount of natural light to come in, even on the cloudier, rainy days. They have nice tall white bar stools that reside at fairly long tables (seating about 6 people at one--I think 3-4 at the other two) and another bar at the window with stools that I believe seats another 3. So it is a pretty good space for a small group of maybe a group of 3 or 4, but also very nicely suited for the soloist or duo pair.

Though I have never used them, there is a basket with blankets that I understand to be there if you are feeling a bit chilly in the space. But I can't say this has been my experience. There is something about the space and how it has been put together that is quite uplifting and cheerful. It is really pretty spot and thoughtfully designed.

The staff are a part of the uplifting experience--they are a lovely group of young women who also offer a kind greeting. I've never felt anything but welcomed in Kitchen Window, and always been quite happy to be there.

And now to their coffee and pastry...which are DIVINE! Their lattes are a wonderful balance of creamy and smooth--they usually use a double shot, which makes it quite strong in the best way. On the days I need it to be a bit less strong, I ask for just a bit more milk or for a single shot of espresso--they always are quite kind about the request and do oblige.

Their pastries are absolutely lovely in more ways than one: they are actually quite pretty--beautiful presentation, especially of their tarts and custard filled and berry topped pastry--but they are also delicious! The pastry I generally have with them, I believe, is filo based or puff pastry that is filled with a lovely custard and topped with berries. It's just scrumptious! There are other pastry items look wonderful but I can't comment as I haven't tried them yet.

I have also not had their food but admittedly, it looks pretty good and looks fresh.
For the most part, I believe everything is pre-made versus made to order. There are a number of salads and sandwiches that they have in their display that are ready to eat. But I think they also do have some hot options--obviously soup--but they also may have some food items made that require cooking and being made to order...I can't speak on that really as I don't know the answer.

An added bonus is that there is free wifi. An additional added bonus is that if you are in Kitchen Window, you are in the lovely Hyndland--which is such a wonderful area of Glasgow.

So for atmosphere, coffee, and pastry and helpfulness of the staff, I give Kitchen Window an A+.

Gian and I stopped by Kitchen Window for a snack last weekend! Quaint place ey!

So, we'd stopped by to try out their coffee and have a wee snack, as we were starving from walking about Glasgow the whole day.

I had a caffe latte and Gian had a soy cappuccino. First off, my caffe latte was decent. I'm not a fan of the size of the cup though because it was pretty big and that's like a lot of milk, but still good! Wasn't horrible or anything. Gian's soy cappuccino, however, was a total disaster! Curdled, bitter and super acidic. TIP FOR CAFES : if ya wanna have the option to serve coffee with soy milk, learn how to do it properly because NOBODY likes friggin tofu floating in their drink. Gian didn't even finish his coffee and that is saying a lot!! He never wastes food or drinks!!

The reason I'm giving Kitchen Window a 4 is because of their sandwiches. Yes. They are REALLY good. They make their own bread for sure because the baguettes they used were super soft and delicious! Gian ordered the prawn avocado sandwich while I had the halloumi and tomato. Daaaaaang I don't say this much about sandwiches but theirs was goooooooood! I liked it a lot and it's really good for a light meal!

The ladies behind the counter were delightful too so no complaints about their service! And they have free wifi! Score!

Conclusion, food and service: great. Normal coffee: ok, coffee with soy: no-no.

Love this place, freshly cooked home made food! Their cakes are yummy but I have to admit my weakness is the salad with Beetroot and walnuts. Very good post Gym! The seating is limited but if you can get to sit outside and watch Hyndland walk by you, it is the best seat in the house, they are a friendly bunch and the home made soup has rescued many a hangover.  Prices are  good as you get exactly what you pay for and it is worth every penny. They also do outside catering.
Top wee place, nice people and good food

Lovely girls working, as I walked in I was greeted with a smile

Lost a star on availability of items, no avocado or bread for sandwiches. I get that it's late in the day but I expect all items to be available during your opening hours

However their friendly helpful attitude directed me to other items which would compliment my chosen dish in place of what they had run out of

They were right it tasted great and the baguette was fresh and crispy on the outside and lovely and soft in the middle

Was lucky to get one of the two tables outside and watched the world go by
    Lovely little coffee sandwich shop

Quick review as I've only popped in twice.

It's a tiny place but there is more seating upstairs so don't be put off if it looks full. The coffee is good, as is the selection of made on the premise food, the beetroot and chocolate cake I've had there is heavenly!

Staff are friendly and cheerful, and can't say much more until I've eaten there properly.

Ohh yeah, and yes it is an 'open window' type place, but not quite sure that, as per another review, that's any reason to mark it down. Don't ALL cafes/restaurants like to be seen to have customers?
